It turns out that the humanized mouse model can be used to evaluate any type of organ transplantation, as well as stem cell transplantation for cancer, autoimmune diseases and other conditions where donor cells are used. The use of model organisms is much faster, safer and more sensitive than the gold standard, scientists report.
