Russian scientists have analyzed data from more than a hundred cosmonauts. A third of them are no longer alive.
Scientists analyzed information from Russian andSoviet cosmonauts. The study covered a period of almost 60 years - from January 1, 1960 to December 31, 2018. By the end of the period, 37 people had died.
As it turned out, most of them died fromcardiovascular diseases - 48.65%. 27.03% of cosmonauts received malignant neoplasms. Also, 16.22% of people died from some "external causes." The average age at which the astronauts died was 64.4 years.
Scientists have concluded that there is still insufficient data to assess the long-term health effects of space travel.
