The new driver will increase the performance of Intel Arc graphics cards in games with DirectX 9 by 80%

Intel has released full details about the new beta version of the Intel Arc driver, including claims of improved

performance up to 80 percent for certain DX9 games.

This must be a huge leap, and if itaccurate, with this update, the company will fix an old pain point for Intel Arc graphics cards, namely low frame rates in some DirectX 9-based games. Previously, the company used DX 12, using different levels of real-time translation to work with DX 9 , which significantly weakened the position of its cards compared to AMD or Nvidia.

According to Intel employee Tom Peterson (TomPetersen), native DirectX 9 rendering will be added to the company's graphics cards with a new update. He also shared test results on Steam's most popular game, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, and according to Peterson, this is an epic 80% increase. As a specific example, he cites 1080p, which used to have an average frame rate of 177 but has now risen to 318.

It should be admitted that in other games the increasemore modest: 54% for Stellaris, 48% for Starcraft 2 and 36% for League of Legends, but these are still not bad results, so if you have this type of video card and like to play “not the newest” games – The update is required for installation.
