The new heating system will reduce energy costs in workshops by five times

Scientists from Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) and Tyumen Industrial University (TIU)

) have developed a system that will reduce energy costs for heating industrial enterprises by five times.

The new system replaces traditional convection heating with radiant heating systems using gas infrared emitters.

With a small share of usable area and volumeIt is extremely unprofitable to heat rooms by heating the entire air mass. We carefully studied heat transfer in the “ecosystems” of local workplaces, taking into account, among other things, the nature of heating of the worker’s clothing and the orientation of its individual sections relative to radiation. There are currently no calculations for similar heating systems either in Russia or abroad.

Gennady Kuznetsov, Professor of the I. N. Butakov Scientific and Educational Center of the TPU School of Energy Engineering

The method proposed by scientists heats uprequired areas of floor and equipment. They transfer heat to adjacent layers of air, which rises up and displaces cold air. The AP of such systems can reach 80%.

The use of gas emitters in heating, the TPU and TIU scientists are sure, is advisable at any enterprises of the machine-building, instrument-making, oil and gas industries.
