Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman said that iOS 16 may finally get the long-awaited always-on feature
Gurman, citing sources, claims that iniOS 16 will bring support for always-on display, which Apple originally planned for last year's iPhone 13. This will allow the iPhone to significantly reduce the frame rate on the lock screen.
The journalist also noted that the always-on display mode is exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models. This will be possible thanks to the use of LTPO TFT panels.
In addition, iPhone 14 Pro models will get a new A16 Bionic chip and a 48-megapixel rear camera.
