Новый метод быстро определяет уровень загрязнения почвы нефтью

Today, to find oil contamination, direct instrumental methods are usually used, e.g.

infrared spectrophotometry: it requires sampling and laboratory testing. This usually takes several days and requires expensive equipment.

The new express method does not need a laboratory, it can be used right at the site of the alleged contamination. He finds the exact boundaries and the degree of pollution in a few hours.

Method based on indirect soil indicators—byelectrical resistance - determines the degree of its contamination. The essence and scientific novelty is that, without taking soil samples and taking them to the laboratory, we determine the boundaries and degree of pollution under natural conditions. Due to the fact that petroleum products have high resistance, a zone of increased resistance is obtained, we find it, then within the border of this zone, using sensors, we determine what the pollution coefficient is. Everything happens very quickly, literally in two hours.

Now the authors of the new work are planning to develop a mobile instrument-measuring complex for operational monitoring of soil pollution: it will be made on the basis of the described methodology.

The new complex will read and processdata in place. They can be provided to supervisory authorities to promptly identify environmental violations. The development will also help industrial enterprises in eliminating soil contamination with petroleum products.
