According to a report by the South China Morning Post, a bullet vacuum train in China has completed its first test runs.

They were carried out on a superconducting line for magnetic suspension tests in Datong, Shanxi province.So far, the speed of the trains has reached 50 km/h.The goal of the next-generation train is to transport passengers and goods at a speed of 1,000 km/h or faster in a near-vacuum tube.

If the project goes according to plan, the Chinese vacuumthe train will become the world's fastest land transport technology. The facility where the trains are being tested is built and operated by contractor China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC). Its representatives said the first few tests went well.

However, the length of the pipe that is available for testing the Chinese hyperloop train is only two kilometers. It is expected that in the next few years it will be increased to 60 km.

Currently, the fastest high-speed trains operate at a speed of 350 km/h.  But the maglev or magnetic levitation technology at the Datong facility eliminatesfriction that wears down the rails, and the vacuum tube reduces air resistance.
