The oldest brewery in the world unearthed

American and Egyptian archaeologists have unearthed the oldest brewery in the world. It is located on the territory

ancient city of Egypt - Abydos.

According to Interfax, Abydos is located 450 kilometers south of Cairo, in the desert. Now there is an archaeological zone there.

Scientists believe that the found brewery dates back to the time of Pharaoh Narmer, the founder of the First Dynasty of the Early Kingdom (3150 - 2613 BC).

The brewery consists of eight large rooms. Each contains about 40 clay tanks. Apparently, water and grain were heated in them to make beer. One of the scientists said that beer was necessary for rituals.

Curiously, the existence of this brewery was said by British archaeologists in the 1900s. However, they were able to find her only now.
