Retired US Army Colonel and astronaut Mark Vande Hei will break the record for longest stay in space.
In total, he will stay in space for 355 days - from March 92021. After that, the capsule with it will land in Kazakhstan aboard the Russian Soyuz capsule. Vande Hai will break the previous American record for being in space, held by NASA astronaut Scott Kelly. His stay in outer space lasted for 340 days. This record was set on March 2, 2013.
And the longest time in space was the Russian cosmonaut Valery Polyakov - 438 days - from January 1994 to March 1995.
