The Russians were told about the bugs that quickly break the smartphone

The Prime agency interviewed the director of the University’s Institute of Information Technologies

"Synergy" Stanislav Kosarev, during which Russians were told about bugs that quickly break a smartphone.

The most common bugs in recent years include a background image bug, a date bug, and a dangerous message for iOS devices.

They started talking about the first about a year ago, notingthat it is taking out Android smartphones. “It seems that this is an ordinary picture depicting a natural landscape, but when installed on the desktop, certain gadgets have the screen constantly turning on and off,” Kosarev shared, explaining that this is due to the color scheme of the picture. So, if the basic settings assume the display of sRGB colors, then the picture uses the RGB gamut.

As for the date bug, it was noticed back in2016 on iOS. Then, if the user went to the date and time settings and set January 1, 1970 – this led to device failure. Apple subsequently fixed this vulnerability.

On iOS 13, there was a security hole associated withwith a dangerous message. So, it was possible to break the device if you send a short message to it with an emoji in the form of an Italian flag and a symbol in the Sindhi language.
