The ship "Eagle" must make a manned flyby of the moon in 2029

“Eagle” is the new name of the Federation ship, which has been in development for more than eight years. Works on

its creation, as before, is being led by RSC Energia. The device will be used for flights to the International Space Station (ISS) and to the Moon.

It is planned that the company's engineers firsttwo full-size ship models will be manufactured: the first will be tested on heavy carriers of the Angara-A5 class in 2023, the second on a Yenisei superheavy class rocket in 2028. In 2024, the ship will make an unmanned flight to the ISS, in 2025 - manned.

Now Roscosmos has revealed the planned date of the first flight of the ship around the moon - it should take place in 2029.

In 2029, a manned take-off and testing of a manned docking of a ship with a lunar take-off and landing complex.

Urlichich said that in 2019 Roscosmos plans to send an automatic rover to the moon. Whether it will be launched along with the Eagle is not specified.

It was previously reported that Roscosmos will allocate 8 billion rubles in 2021 for the production of the serial manned spacecraft "Eagle".
