Elon Musk's SpaceX is preparing a prototype for a test flight at an altitude of about 18 kilometers
Modification of the ship with a nose cone andstabilizers will be ready in about a week, TASS writes, citing Musk. Then specialists will conduct fire tests of the prototype ship, and after that they will send it to an altitude of 18.3 kilometers. The device will have to successfully return to Earth. Elon Musk promised that the tests would be a “breathtaking” spectacle.
In early September, SpaceX conducted flight testsprototype Starship at a height of 45.7 meters. The ship was able to make a smooth landing on a special asphalt pad, which was located next to the launch pad.
