The model features a 12-screw configuration,distributed over a 15-metre wingspan. The new model's transitional front propellers are larger than those of earlier prototypes, with five blades. The rear propellers, with four blades, are switched off and locked during flight to reduce drag. In the new model, engineers positioned the wings higher than the passenger cabin to improve safety and reduce cabin noise.
The company is now seeking certification.in and around New Zealand, with more than 1,600 test flights underway. Wisk Aero ranks sixth in the SMG Advanced Air Mobility Reality Index, which tracks the likelihood that an OEM will certify aircraft, put them into service, and produce thousands of vehicles per year. The startup is just above Archer, but behind Lilium, Volocopter, Joby, and others.
