The study showed how Russians really feel about VR and AR

According to the results of a joint study by Avito Works and the technology company DEVAR, for most people

VR/AR technologies are understandable and close, theyunderstand them. 8 out of 10 know that interacting with virtual reality will require special equipment: glasses, helmets. Augmented reality remains a little less clear. Thus, only 6 out of 10 know that all they need to access AR technologies is a smartphone.

Also, most people understand the difference betweenthese technologies. They know that when using VR they can be completely immersed in the virtual world and try on different roles. Augmented reality technologies make it possible to combine the real and virtual worlds - try on a dress in an online store, see book characters come to life, etc.

Immersive technologies - virtual andaugmented reality  — provide the effect of full and partial human presence in the digital space. They are shaping a new approach to content and experiences. Many people are familiar with VR attractions, where you can put on special glasses and feel like the hero of the game and go through a quest. AR allows you to “try on” a sofa for your living room, an outfit or makeup, or visit an exhibition or concert before purchasing, independently controlling the viewing angle. In addition, it is immersive technologies that will be used in the era of metaverses by the end of this decade.

According to a study by DEVAR and Avito Works, peopledo not just understand immersive technologies. So, 84% note that work in this area gives a lot of space for creativity and imagination. In many ways, this attitude is due to the fact that the role of creative and creative industries is now growing, where you can create something fundamentally new, and this does not always require specialized IT education.

What makes immersive technologies attractive is notonly the opportunity for creative self-realization. 54% of respondents noted that one can make good money in this area. Another 34% consider this direction prestigious. For 30%, an important advantage is a free schedule. In technology fields, project-based employment is often used. This format allows specialists to work on several projects, often earning more than full-time employees.

For 29% of people, development in the field of immersive technologies is attracted by the opportunity to open their own business, and 27% note that there are already many offers from employers on the market.

Immersive or enhanced technologiesreality has been on the rise lately. The main technologies are VR (virtual) and AR (augmented) reality. As a joint study by Avito Rabota and the technology company DEVAR showed, 8 out of 10 people understand immersive technologies, and half consider them a promising career direction.
