The third generation of the Google Tensor chip is already in the works: again Samsung

The key feature of the Pixel 6 family is Google Tensor - the first chipset of Google's own design, created jointly

with Samsung. And although we are awaiting the debut of Tensor 2, which will form the basis of the upcoming Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, the first rumors about the third generation of the chip have already begun to surface on the Internet. According to GalaxyClub, Samsung is testing a chipset codenamed “Ripcurrent”. In the documentation, it is designated as S5P9865, which follows the naming logic of Google's first two chips: the original Tensor has the model number S5P9845, and the Tensor 2 has the model number S5P9855. In view of this, we can talk about the intention of the “good corporation” continue cooperation with Samsung, even despite the frankly lackluster performance of the first Tensor compared to the flagship solutions of Qualcomm and MediaTek.
