OPPO showed a small increase, but neither it nor other brands took more than 2% of the market. Speaking of specific models, Galaxy Z Flip 3 remains the undisputed leader for the third quarter in a row with a share of 51%. Galaxy Z Fold 3 follows with a noticeable lag (22%), but the very rapidly gaining popularity Huawei P50 Pocket (19%) is already breathing down its back. By the way, these three models account for 91% of the foldable smartphone market. At the same time, neither OPPO Find N, nor Vivo X Fold, nor Xiaomi Mix Fold have yet managed to overcome the bar of 2.5% of the market.
Summing up, Ross Young expects further turbulentgrowth of the foldable smartphone market in 2022. He estimates shipments will increase by 107% to over 16 million units, with the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4 expected this summer to be the driving force behind this.
