Ukrainian software "єPPO" for the first time helped shoot down a Russian cruise missile.
What is known
The application "єPPO" was created by Ukrainianby the developers of the design group "Tekhnari" together with air defense specialists, Air Force officers and the operational command "South". The software has been available on Google Play since mid-October 2022.
On the morning of October 22, the Air Force of Ukraine, with the help ofJPPO shot down a Kalibr cruise missile in the south of the country. The Igla man-portable anti-aircraft missile system was used to destroy the $6.5 million missile.
In order to use "єPPO", you needturn on the GPS, launch the application and go through the authorization through the "Diya" system to confirm your identity. When an air target is detected, you must select the type (missile, drone, plane, helicopter), point your smartphone in the direction of its flight and press the big red button. After that, the military will receive target designation.
