The United States criticized the creation of a light single-engine fighter by Russia

The American publication The Drive commented on Russia's creation of a light single-engine fighter. Authors

noted that it is not clear why the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) need such an aircraft.

The material was retold by Military Review. The authors of The Drive refer to a message from Rostec that the concern is working on a project of “a promising fighter, which is planned to be produced in both manned and unmanned versions.” It will belong to the “light and middle class”.

The Drive noted that the concept of a single-engine fighter is new for Russia. Most likely, Rostec is working on a “light multifunctional front-line aircraft” in a single-engine version.

The authors wonder who can buy a new onelight Russian fighter. Even the Russian Defense Ministry has no interest in this. In addition, the Aerospace Forces has the Okhotnik strike drone, which is capable of working in conjunction with the Su-57. Why a light fighter is being developed at all is unclear.
