The US general appreciated the launch of the Russian satellite, which is now chasing the US

A US Army general has expressed disappointment over the recently launched Russian satellite, which,

appears to be pursuing an American military satellite in space, reports Gizmodo. Discuss

In a recent interview with NBC News, James Dickinson,Commander of the US Space Command, called the launch of the Russian satellite "Cosmos 2558" "irresponsible behavior," while acknowledging that command is monitoring the satellite to see if it continues to follow its American counterpart in orbit.

“We see that it is in orbit, similar to the orbit of one of our high-value assets for the US government,” – Dickinson said. “And so we will continue to ... update the information and monitor it.”

On August 1, a Russian satellite was launched during the flight of an American military satellite over the Plesetsk cosmodrome.

It is reported that the Russian satellite canto maneuver in orbit to get a closer look at a US military satellite and perhaps watch it to find out its purpose. Spying on the orbit of another satellite in space is not entirely illegal. This means that although the US government will complain about it, there is little they can do.
