A new video online showed how the American combat submarine USS Toledo SSN-769 breaks through ice in the Arctic. This

not an easy operation, so it attracted public attention.

The video was published on the official YouTube channelUS Navy (Navy). The submarine's ascent took place as part of the ICEX 2020 exercise. The video shows how the submarine's conning tower breaks through the ice. Then the crew descends from it and begins to cut out pieces of ice from the hull. Journalists suggested that the submarine could have gotten stuck.

In Russia, the video has already been commented. Former Chief of the General Staff of the Navy Admiral Viktor Kravchenko said surfacing submarines in ice is not an easy operation. However, in Russia, and more precisely in the USSR, it has long been mastered.
