Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that the capital of Russia, although it was the last of the major cities in

which has a new face recognition system, but it is the domestic capital that has the largest number of cameras, as well as their overall online work.

So, the launch of the updated system will allowlaw enforcement agencies in real time to detect and recognize people in the crowd without interruption, that is, 24 hours a day and seven days a week. At the same time, human rights defenders have already made statements according to which, using this system, the authorities undermine civil liberties, since now the streets will turn into a showcase for a “virtual identity demonstration”.

"The system is not only harmless to ordinary people,it helps a lot in capturing terrorists, criminals, pedophiles and pickpockets, helping the police to identify them in a matter of seconds and catch them for several hours, not days or weeks, ”said Alexander Minin, CEO of the NtechLab system development company.
