The world's most powerful electric boat sets a speed record

Marine recently took to the waters of the Lake of the Ozarks to set a new benchmark for electrified watercraft.

A breathtaking 360-degree video of the record run can be viewed below.

Last year, Vision Marine releasedto market the E-Motion 180E outboard motor. Thanks to it, the catamaran glides through the water much quieter than its counterparts, without sacrificing power. The E-Motion 180E is billed as the world's most powerful electric outboard, with a 180 hp engine delivering 390 Nm of torque. Miami-based Hellkat Powerboats purchased it with the goal of building the most powerful electric boat in the world.

During a charity race on motorboats, which took place at the end of August, the V32 entered the water under the control of the famous rider Sean Torrente. Breaking the 161 km/h barrier and reaching a top speed of 175 km/h, the V32 surpassed the previous electric boat speed record of 142.6 km/h set by Jaguar Vector Racing in 2018.

“It was an amazing experience to push the boundarieswhat people thought was impossible,” Torrente said. “Over the past two days, we have proven that the limits of electric propulsion only exist in the minds of those who have not followed Vision Marine and our project.”
