The back panel feels nice in the hand, and the texture looks great up close. At the same time, you won’t notice all this from afar. People around you will only be able to appreciate the site with the designer’s autograph.

The back is slightly curved, the frame is beveled and has a good grip, the triple camera is placed on a glass substrate. The smartphone turned out to be restrained, but with a thoroughbred appearance, with good taste, so to speak. It has very thin front bezels, good ergonomics, and the plastic, although not super luxury, is unusual. It's also practical over long distances.

The realme GT2 Pro screen is absolutely in the "big league".Here we have a Samsung AMOLED matrix with a diagonal of 6.7 inches, Quad HD + resolution, 1440x3216 pixels (526 ppi) and a dynamic change in the screen refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz.
With what to compare to make it clearer? Well, look:

By resolution, this is the level of the Samsung Galaxy S22Ultra or iPhone 13 Pro Max. The Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+, as you may know, are cut off in terms of screen image clarity from 2K to 1080p, so they are not competitors.

In terms of brightness, the results are not ultra-record (underthe rays of the sun in Egypt with the auto-brightness of the S22 Ultra or 13 Pro Max will be a little brighter), this is already the level somewhere of the Samsung Galaxy S21, S22 + or, say, OnePlus 10 Pro.
Variable frequency promises good autonomycompared to conventional AMOLED screens, however, the operation of automation is far from ideal. It seemed to me that the system is not always correct, and most importantly, it quickly selects the optimal frequency, which is why scrolling sometimes does not go smoothly enough. But it's nice that everything can be configured as you like: either always 60 Hz, or always 120 Hz, or a variable adaptive frequency to maximize autonomy. In Samsung, for example, you can choose either 60 Hz or "sometimes 120 Hz, I'll decide for myself, it's not your damn business to climb into such subtleties" in the smartphone screen settings.

Realme promise brightness in manual mode of 500 cd/m2,800 in automatic and up to 1400 peak, as well as perfect calibration when the “Natural” screen mode is selected. Well, in general, if you take into account the errors of the devices, they are not lying - in manual mode the smartphone squeezes out 480 cd/m2, in the car it accelerates to 780 cd/m2. As I wrote above, all Pro Max and Ultra displays are a little brighter, but only in extreme modes, but in civilian use everything is the same, while everything that is not ultra and promax has the same characteristics. The color rendition of the display is also excellent. However, if you switch from the calibrated reference mode to a more spectacular and bright cinematic mode with the DCI-P3 color palette, the picture will become colder and delta E higher. But even here they let you customize everything: there is a Pro mode with manual adjustment of parameters, a screen temperature slider, and there are also two sensors for assessing ambient lighting for automatic color changes. It’s damn hard to criticize the characteristics of a smartphone, which you can change to suit you within wide limits…

And you probably think that 120 Hz is for games?Nope, not really. The increased screen refresh rate works when navigating the system, scrolling through lists in applications, and similar tasks. And in games - sorry. Even if you look into the settings, where you force the GT performance mode to be activated and change the adaptive frequency to a fixed 120 Hz, nothing will change. In the settings of the conditional League of Legends: Wild Rift, you can select a screen frequency of 30 or 60 Hz, and about the values \u200b\u200bof 90 and 120, the game says that the device is not compatible with them.
Top-end processor, although you can’t tell by the nameplate
It only got to Russia realme GT2 Pronow, in fact, it was shown in China more than six months ago, on January 4, 2022. And at that time it was a smartphone based on the world's fastest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 smartphone processor, manufactured using a 4 nm process technology. The processor is eight-core with one high-speed Cortex-X2 3.00 GHz core, three Cortex-A710 2.50 GHz cores and four economical Cortex-A510 1.80 GHz cores. Adreno 730 is responsible for graphics performance.

Since then, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 has been released,but… You do understand that a “plus” in the Qualcomm processor indices is simply “we overclocked it a little”? Yes, 8+ Gen 1 is faster than the standard version due to overclocking from 2900 to 3200 MHz by about 9%… but this is only if cooling allows and the smartphone does not overheat under load for every sneeze. But since the Snapdragon 888 suffered due to this very overheating to the level of the Snapdragon 870 or even 865, I would not seriously idolize such a difference in the 8+ Gen 1.
Although, if you need checkers, and not go, then forfans of points in benchmarks have released a new (and most importantly, less expensive) realme GT2 Master Explorer Edition just on Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which is gaining more than a million points in AnTuTu. A rare case, it turns out: the sub-flagship overtakes the main smartphone of the brand in terms of power, although it is worse in other disciplines.
Well, in fact, even normally workingSnapdragon 870 is enough for everything today. Snapdragon 888, 8+ Gen 1 and others are already basically a reserve for the future, when fat applications in new versions and even more crookedly written games on smartphones with a power reserve will still work fine, and without a reserve they will slow down. As usual.

By the way, things are going well with heat transfer.The eighth series of Snapdragon processors is well known for overheating problems, but even in a rather hot Moscow summer, I did not have any troubles with the realme GT2 Pro. For example, after several hours of playing League of Legends: Wild Rift, the only moment when the smartphone got obscenely warm was during the initial setup. More precisely, right after transferring data over the wire from my old smartphone. At that moment, I managed to become rather depressed and fantasized about possible drops in performance after long gaming sessions, but I never managed to find an unpleasantly hot smartphone in my hand.

As for memory, the world's only soldfour configurations, but only the second oldest version officially arrived in Russia with 12 GB of RAM and a fast UFS 3.1 drive with a capacity of 256 GB. Officials do not offer options with 8/128 and 8/256 (and okay, not really necessary), but there is no 512 GB either, and here it’s already a pity. You can live with 256 gigs, but those who like to record 4K video (and most importantly, store it in a warehouse in a smartphone), or collect movies and TV shows in a mobile phone, will complain that the memory is back to back.
Autonomy and charging speed
How long will realme GT2 Pro work withoutrecharging - very much depends on your tastes and aggressiveness of its use. A decent number of options are available in the local firmware, which in total can significantly reduce the autonomy of the smartphone. First of all, this is the screen refresh rate: it can be fixed at 60 Hz and it will be economical, or it can always be displayed strictly at 120 Hz, and it will be gluttonous. And adaptive mode is like a golden mean. You can also turn on or not turn on the clock and notifications on a black locked screen, turn on or not turn on the light strip along the edges of the screen for notifications, switch between FHD and QHD clarity modes in display resolution, turn off the search for 5G networks (because in Russia there will be you can't wait for years, hee hee) so that the smartphone does not waste cellular airwaves in vain, and the autonomy increases a little more… I’m generally silent about the number of checkboxes in energy saving mode.

Would you like to see an expensive smartphone higher on the autonomy list? It doesn't work that way, guys.
Just google how much smartphones cost,which were ahead of him in terms of battery life - there are completely mobile phones with a radically weaker processor, so they "go quieter and will continue." But close in power Xperia Pro-I, Xiaomi 11T Pro are nearby. And the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE (also on Snapdragon, only 888 already) is as much lower in the table as it has a smaller battery.
In short, the usual realme GT2 Pro turned outautonomy by the standards of extremely powerful mobile phones. With active use, it keeps well until the evening without recharging. And this despite the fact that I activated all the most energy-consuming options and set the screen refresh rate to 120 Hz. However, short-term energizing during the day is not a hassle, since the kit comes with a charger with proprietary SuperDART technology with a power of 65 watts. From zero to one hundred, the realme GT2 Pro takes just under 40 minutes to charge.
What realme UI 3.0 looks like
The smartphone is running Android 12 withstretched over the third version of the proprietary shell of the realme UI brand. The issue of software is always a matter of taste. Someone likes their own brand solutions, someone installs popular third-party solutions like Nova Launcher, there are also those who “customize” the interface for another manufacturer. Personally, I like the software from the BBK holding, whether it's relame, vivo or OnePlus. There are a lot of options and settings, so you can do everything to your taste or leave it alone and use it as is.

From cool, for example, in realme UI 3.0 features an iPhone-style swipe half of the screen for easy access to the top elements of the interface, grouping into a dense pile of icons on the home screen for launching applications, many settings for the always-on display, multi-windows, quick access pop-up menus. Main camera
The main sensor is a 1/1 size Sony IMX766.56 inches with a resolution of 50 megapixels and a pixel size of 1.0µm. You will laugh, but the same sensor is in OnePlus 9R and… realme 9 Pro+. Which is, of course, a compliment for the 9 Pro+ (and yes, it really does take better pictures than any mid-range smartphone), but for the GT2 Pro it’s a sign that the camera here isn’t the coolest possible. Smells like some kind of groundwork for the GT2 Ultra, or something, like Xiaomi and Samsung?
However, the technical component of the sincomplain: the camera is equipped with optical stabilization, fast phase detection autofocus and fast f / 1.8 optics. Video recording is supported up to 4K at 60 fps. Shooting modes and options are plentiful. You can connect artificial intelligence algorithms to work (an amateur function), street mode, night mode, 50 MP without combining information from four neighboring pixels, tilt-shift with the effect of miniature shooting, astronomical mode and professional with manual control of parameters. However, most often we still take pictures in the “Auto” mode that starts by default.

Realme GT2 Pro is unlikely to hit the top 5 in shootingDxOMark, but I would say that the main sensor gives the quality of the level corresponding to the flagships. Not ultra-top, but no worse than the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE or S22 +, for example. There is nothing to complain about in daytime shooting: the smartphone provides excellent color reproduction, it appropriately determines the need to connect HDR, the picture is bright and detailed.

But the night mode is an amateur.The algorithms are quite aggressive, so the smartphone camera easily turns night into day and pulls out a huge amount of information about light and color that is not visible to the eye. In short, everything that we remember from Huawei P20 Pro / P30 Pro smartphones at one time, only the quality is higher (2022). For the average consumer, this looks very cool and spectacular, but photographers gravitating towards traditional shooting may be unhappy with the too bright picture in night mode.

If you ask my personal opinion, I stillcapitulate and vote for an aggressive night mode, like in realme GT2 Pro. Mobile photography, by its very nature, does not imply an honest and realistic approach to shooting, because, contrary to the laws of optics and thanks to algorithms, it provides a quality of such a high level that should not be achievable given the sensors and glasses used. However, we have what we have. So why not show more on the smartphone screen than is available to the human eye?
Ultra wide angle camera
In most cases, the ultra wide-angle cameradoes not deserve special attention, since there are almost no smartphones on the market with an expensive, high-quality and technological width. Most often, in good conditions, he shoots normally, in bad conditions - badly. And rarely can offer good color reproduction, detail, lack of noise. Realme GT2 Pro turned out to be more interesting. Specifications of the Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor are as follows: resolution 50 MP, area 1/2.76 inch, pixel size 0.64µm, aperture value is f/2.2. Unfortunately, there is no autofocus, optical stabilization - even more so.

I don't usually use ultra widecamera, and on my Instagram * (very banned and extremist in the Russian Federation, like yours) you can literally count on the fingers the number of photos taken on it. Because on such cameras at night, well, how the quality drops, and I also don’t like the barrel-shaped geometry of shots from the width. The laws of optics do not solve the second problem, but the quality of realme GT2 Pro is in order. What is rather surprising is that the OnePlus 10 Pro has the same ultra-wide, but the photos there are noticeably worse. And here - well, maybe the color reproduction is embellished in places, but no worse than the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra in most cases.

In most smartphones, ultra-wide with night shooting would have coped worse
Color reproduction, dynamic range and detail in good shooting conditions, I would rate at the level of “above average”, and algorithms save at night and at dusk. The shots are not embarrassing.

realme GT2 Pro has optics with a viewing angle of up to150 degrees. For comparison, the iPhone 13 has 120°. Of course, you don’t want to constantly shoot at such an angle, so these camera features have been moved into the category of additional functionality. When switching to ultra-wide from auto mode, photos will be obtained with, let's say, a more restrained viewing angle and automatic geometry correction, and in the additional mode menu, you can select a full 150 degrees or wrap the picture in a fisheye.

The third chamber is a stub rather"for the sake of quantity" than for practical use. Personally, I am very sad that there are few smartphones with a good telephoto on the market, because I really like to shoot in 2-3x mode, and I don’t like cropping the frame with digital zoom at all. However, realme GT2 Pro pleased me at least with the fact that the engineers did not install miserable and completely stupid 2 megapixel macro cameras or auxiliary sensors for portrait mode or shooting in b/w. This smartphone also has a macro, but not the usual one, but in the style of a microscope.

BBK holding has already used this in photo flagshipsOppo, and now it's realme's turn. The bottom line is that the third camera shoots with 20x optical or 40x digital zoom. In practice, this means that photographs on it must be taken at a distance of one to two millimeters. At the same time, the flash with a flashlight is always active so that the subject is at least somehow illuminated. The camera parameters are as follows: 3 megapixel resolution, f / 3.3 aperture and even autofocus!

The practicality of this camera module is all the sametends to zero, if we talk about the daily use of a smartphone over a long distance. But you will never use a depth sensor or a regular two-megapixel macro at all, and with realme GT2 Pro, you can show off your microscope camera at least 5-10 times to friends or give a child a chance to study the textures of everyday objects with such a powerful zoom.

Apparently, the most interesting went to the modulerear cameras. The front camera in realme GT2 Pro is quite ordinary: with a 32 MP sensor resolution, f/2.4 aperture, 1/2.74 inch area and 0.8µm pixel size. Located in a miniature circular cutout in the upper left corner of the screen. Video shooting is supported up to 1080p at 30fps. You can’t say anything bad about the quality, the pictures are quite nice, with good color reproduction, detail and no excess noise. Well, that is, you will just have a normal camera for selfies and video calls.

But if you look at the smartphone market as a whole,there are more interesting solutions, for example, there are additional diodes for backlighting, high-resolution sensors, faster optics, it is possible to change the viewing angle for single and group photos, and autofocus is also available in some front cameras.
360° NFC, 12 antennas and more
Some traditional flagship options in realmeGT2 Pro was not reported. Cause? Here it is worth looking back at the global price tag of 750 euros for the minimum configuration, or about 43,500 rubles at the exchange rate at the time of publication. It is quite natural that at this price in this smartphone we did not count cameras with optical zoom, protection against water and dust (only splash resistance is declared here without IPXX certification), and there is also no Qi wireless charging. But at least there is support for the aptX HD codec, Hi-Res Audio 24-bit / 192kHz and very decent stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos are installed.

But the wireless modules are the mostmodern: Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6, Bluetooth 5.2. The smartphone also has 12 antennas that intelligently switch depending on the position of the smartphone for optimal reception of the mobile network and Wi-Fi. It’s hard to say how it works in practice, since I don’t experience any particular difficulties in the operation of wireless modules with other smartphones, so we can only hope that such an array of antennas is installed in realme GT2 Pro for a reason and will really help in improving the signal quality for problematic users.

The manufacturer also speaks of an unusual360-degree NFC module, but do not flatter yourself that it will work perfectly when you touch any place and side of the smartphone. We are talking about a sensor with an increased (according to marketers) by 500% area compared to a "regular" module and a 20% longer range. In practice, I can say that in order to pay with a smartphone, you still need to understand the approximate location of the sensor in the case. Sometimes you really need to aim at the payment terminal less than usual, sometimes not, and you have to fiddle with your smartphone a little to find the right point. In general, not to say that 360 ° NFC allows you to pay for purchases at the checkout somehow differently than in other mobile phones.

Finally, another small feature realme GT2 Proin a four-axis linear vibration motor drive developed jointly with a certain AAC Technologies. Again, judging by the text of marketers, you should count on, if not magic, then at least technological magic: a new magnetic field scheme, a redesigned drive, an increase in amplitude by 40%, an improvement in energy efficiency by 80% and 30% less noise. But if in a simple way, the vibration in the smartphone is powerful, feels good and provides pleasant tactile sensations.

For example, the basic iPhone 13 with a minimum amount of memory, the flagship Huawei P50 Pro, which is specific due to the lack of Google services, or the Motorola Edge 30 Pro, which is unpopular in Russia. For the same money there is also the Samsung Galaxy S22, which has a Full HD display instead of Quad HD, a compact hot smartphone with poor battery life, but with water protection and… Yes, in general, cameras of the same quality as the realme GT2 Pro (but the S22 Ultra is better, but for different money).
If you choose fundamentally not Chinesea smartphone, but equal in performance, will be more like the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus, which costs 95,000 rubles in Russia. True, it should be borne in mind that we are now talking about models imported by parallel imports, so your guarantee is from the manufacturer bye-bye. But there will be full IP68 water protection, a third camera with optical zoom, wireless and reverse charging, as well as a proprietary DeX desktop mode. However, for more money, here's what you lose compared to realme: lower screen resolution, less memory (8/128 vs 12/256), weaker charging (45W vs 65W), and it all heats up and discharges quickly, as usual at Samsung.
In short, only OnePlus 10 Pro emerges from normal competitors in unofficial retail.
And in the official… We would like this nowideologically they would not buy anything at prices. But if you really need it and don’t want to go to Aliexpress, realme GT2 Pro is now more profitable than any high-end smartphone from another brand.
