Tesla CEO Elon Musk demonstrated his much-hyped humanoid robot

Optimus at the electric car maker's AI Day event on Friday.

The billionaire said that the production of robots will cost more than his car business. Musk said he hopes to go beyond the production of unmanned vehicles.

The robot prototype walked onto the stage and waved to the seatedto the public. Company representatives posted a video on social media showing Optimus carrying a box, watering plants and moving metal bars at the automaker's plant.

“Our goal is to create a usefulhumanoid robot,” Musk said at an event at Tesla’s office in Palo Alto, California. “There is still a lot of work to be done to improve Optimus and prove it.”

The businessman said that currentlyhumanoid robots are “brainless”, meaning the lack of intelligence for independent existence in the world. In addition, they are very expensive and produced in small quantities.

On the contrary, according to his Mask, Optimus willan "extremely capable robot" and the Tesla founder plans to launch production in large volumes - eventually millions of units. The robot is expected to cost much less than a car, less than $20,000.
