In a new review of studies byThe Tea Advisory Group found that German chamomile herbal tea can reduce a person's chance of developing cardiovascular disease. Experts note that this tea greatly reduces the level of cholesterol in the blood, and also has a positive effect on the level of insulin, glucose, and lipids in the body.

This effect is considered important for health, since elevated cholesterol and sugar levels are what precede the onset of heart disease.

As part of the review, experts assessed how three herbal teas (mint, rosehip and chamomile) affect women's health.
