The Asiatic cheetah is one of the rare subspeciesan animal that once inhabited the territory of the Middle East and India. However, today they are found in the wild only in Iran. But even there, according to the local government, fewer than 20 cheetahs have been recorded.
The Iranian authorities, together with the UN, are implementingprogram to restore the population of Asiatic cheetahs. According to Ali Salajeh, they plan to use a male Koushki and two females Iran and Delbar to give birth to cubs that will be gradually released into the wild.
