The heads of the Greek gods Hercules, Eros and Dionysus were found in the ancient city of Aizanaya in the Turkish province

The statue that the researchers found duringexcavations, is the only one that has been completely preserved. Her height is 210 cm, she is missing only half of the pedestal and one leg. Otherwise, she remained intact. Scientists hope to find the missing parts in 2023.
Other finds include the head of Dionysus, tallabout 40 cm and the head of Hercules. In 2020, researchers found the body of the statue, but the head was from a different object. In addition, archaeologists have found heads of statues of various gods and goddesses of the ancient Greek pantheon. One of the striking examples is the head of Eros, about 20 cm high. Artifacts that scientists have found in the area date back to different periods, but fragments of the statues are believed to have been created 1800-2000 years ago.
The ancient city of Aizanoi is located in the territoryÇavdarhisar, 48 km southwest of Kütahya province, in the interior of Western Anatolia. Today it is located on a flat treeless plateau known as the Rencik Plain, at an altitude of 1000 to 1050 m above sea level. The city was located on the banks of the Rindakos River, approximately 40 km southwest of Coteium, 25 km northeast of Kadi and 40 km northwest of Appia.
