It seems that SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has changed his mind about stopping funding for satellite communications.
Previously, the company addressed the Pentagon with a requesttake on the financing of the operation of Starlink satellite communication complexes in Ukraine, because, according to its data, financing for services amounts to more than $120 million until the end of the year and about $400 million over the next 12 months.
In recent days this issue has been actively discussed inUkraine, the USA and many other countries: for example, the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry proposed creating a coalition of Ukrainian allies to pay for Starlink, or finding an alternative supplier. But, apparently, Musk himself decided to close this issue by continuing financing. Here's what he wrote on Twitter:
“To hell with it... Even if Starlink is stillis losing money while other companies are receiving billions of taxpayer dollars, we will continue to fund the Ukrainian government for free”
The hell with it … even though Starlink is still losing money & other companies are getting billions of taxpayer $, we’ll just keep funding Ukraine govt for free
