Top 10 of the world: the most popular smartphone models in 2022

Counterpoint Research researchers have published one of the most eloquent reports for 2022, reflecting the top 10

For starters, these 10 models account for almost a fifth of the world's best-selling smartphones.of all smartphones sold during the year, and this is hundreds of millions of units.And, sadly for the Android market, 8 out of 10 placesThe top ten went to Apple.And now let's take a closer look at the winners:

The absolute hit of the last year was the basiciPhone 13: This model occupied 5% of global sales and was a permanent hit from January to August inclusive - until the launch of the iPhone 14 series. The second line, almost two times behind (2.6%), is occupied by the iPhone 13 Pro Max. This, by the way, is no less remarkable event: previously, Pro Max models have never been able to sell better than Pro. The iPhone 14 Pro Max, released in autumn, consolidated its success, in just 4 months it managed to break into the third line of the best-selling smartphones of the year (1.7%).

This excerpt turned out to be fatal for Samsung, which almost managed to get into the top three (1.6% of the market).The second and last smartphone of the Koreans in the top is in the 10th position - this is the ultra-budget Galaxy A03 (1.1% of the market).However, this is still one model more than it was in 2021.The rest of the positions are distributed among the iPhones, and there are neither mini nor Plus models among them, which once again hintsthat Apple is likely to abandon such experiments and makeemphasis on the super-premium segment "Ultra".

But Xiaomi, a year earlier, ranked in the top immediatelytwo lines, this time left out of work. For 2023, the researchers expect the overall share of the top 10 models to rise above 19% as brands aggressively cut product lines and focus on premiumizing their devices.
