Toyota has teamed up with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) to create
When will fly
By the end of 2019 it is planned to createtechnical picture of the future rover. To do this, Toyota will attract about 30 of its employees and will also open a “Lunar Research Mobile Plant.” As soon as the engineers understand the theoretical part, production and testing of the working parts of the lunar rover will begin. Control tests of the miniature prototype will begin in 2021. If everything goes according to plan, by 2027 we will be presented with a full-fledged lunar rover.
The concept assumes that the finished car will bemeasuring 6 x 5 x 3.7 metres. There will be enough space inside to accommodate 2-4 people, along with equipment. The transport will be made completely sealed, so the astronauts will not need spacesuits. This miracle of technology will run on solar energy and hydrogen.
