Chief engineer of urban transportDepartment of Hong Kong said that experts have found another way to communicate danger to people who look at their phones while crossing the road. The new device works in sync with traffic lights and projects a red light from above. Thus, pedestrians cannot help but see that the red light is on.

The device is tested on four pedestriancrossings throughout the city, and in six months, officials will review its effectiveness. It is noted that in the first half of the year, four out of seven deaths that occurred at pedestrian crossings in Hong Kong were related to the behavior of pedestrians.
