The recently released LightsOut jailbreak tweak from developer Skitty adds more features to the stock night
In iOS 13, the change of theme depends on the time of day(sunset, dawn) or manually set switching time. Tweak LightsOut includes dark or light modes depending on the level of light, and not the time of day. Tweak uses the data from the iPhone light sensor and adjusts the iOS display mode accordingly:
- If it’s sunny outside, but you are entering a dark room, LightsOut will turn on dark mode.
- If the room is lit, but you go outside in the evening, LightsOut will switch to dark mode.
- If it’s dark outside, but you go into a brightly lit room, LightsOut will turn on day mode.
- If the room does not light and you go out into the sunlight, LightsOut activates the lighting mode.
The developer posted a video in which he shows what the tweak does:

LightsOut also works on devices with iOS 11 and 12, if a jailbreak tweak for dark Dune mode (also from Skitty) is installed.
After installing the tweak, the corresponding section will appear in the settings, in which you can:
- Toggle LightsOut on or off on demand.
- Toggle Dark Mode (or Dune) depending on ambient light conditions (Turn on the dark mode (or Dune tweak) depending on the lighting)
- Toggle Night Shift depending on ambient light conditions.
- Configure a custom light threshold under which dark mode is turned on (Set the sensitivity at which the dark mode is activated).
- Configure an ambient light sensor data refresh interval (in seconds).

Tweak works with native dark mode in iOS 13, and is also compatible with Dune tweaks on devices with iOS 11 and 12.
Default light thresholdsuitable for most cases, while sensitivity can always be increased. The ability to adjust the update of the sensor data reduces battery consumption. By default, the tweak is updated every 3 seconds, but if you want to save battery power, the interval can be reduced.
LightsOut is compatible with jailbroken iOS 11, 12, and 13 devices, and is free to download from the Skitty repository. To install the tweak, add the Skitty repository to Cydea.
