Before the deal, Twitter had about 7,500 employees.employees. Even before the purchase, there were rumors about layoffs, but no one imagined that they would be so massive. According to CNBC, the company now has up to 1,300 active employees. They include less than 550 full-time engineers and about 75 workers who are on vacation.

Musk, however, contradicted internal recordings obtained by CNBC in a series of tweets and claimed that Twitter currently has about 2,300 full-time employees and thousands of contractors.
