9.58 seconds - that's how long it tookJamaican runner Usain Bolt to run the 100 meters in 2009. Agility Robotics' robot overcame spent much more time. He was able to run the 100m in 24.73 seconds. But that was enough to set the Guinness World Record for robotic bipedal devices.
Agility Robotics has created its robot in2017. It was developed at the University of Oregon. In 2021, Cassie was able to complete the 5 km distance in less than 1 hour. To do this, the developers used machine learning algorithms. With their help, the robot learned to run using unique biomechanics and knees that bend like an ostrich.
