Two planets found not far from Earth that are very similar to ours

Astronomers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and other countries have discovered two rocky

planets close to Earth. A distance of just 10 parsecs, or 33 light years, makes this multiplanet system one of the closest to ours. At least from those that scientists know about.

At the center of the system is a small and coldM-type dwarf star. It was named HD 260655. It turned out to be near at least two terrestrial planets the size of Earth. Rocky worlds are probably uninhabitable because their orbits are relatively narrow.

As a result, the planets are affectedtemperatures too high to support liquid surface water. According to experts, the surface temperature of the inner planet is about 710 K (436.85 °C), and the outer one is 560 K (286.85 °C).

However, scientists are enthusiastic about this system. The fact is that the proximity and brightness of its star will allow astronomers to get closer to the properties of the planets and signs of any atmosphere that they may contain. A new planetary system was discovered by NASA's TESS transit exoplanet exploration satellite.
