U.S. integrates Boeing MQ-28 Ghost Bat drones into NGAD program to create sixth-generation fighter to replace F-22 Raptor

To replace the American F-22 Raptor aircraft in 2030, sixth-generation fighters, and in their development may

The United States, under the NGAD program, is developinga sixth generation fighter along with a portfolio of technologies that will ensure air supremacy. It will replace the F-22 Raptor, presumably in 2030. The new generation fighter will cost the same as the F-35 Lightning II, i.е. about $100 million at the start.

Frank Kendall, MinisterThe US Air Force, as part of a briefing in Canberra, Australia, announced the cooperation of the two countries in the field of unmanned technology. The United States may purchase MQ-28 Ghost Bat unmanned fighter jets and is currently in preliminary negotiations.

MQ-28 Ghost Bat is the first aircraft in 50developed by the Australian division of Boeing. The unmanned fighter was previously known as the Loyal Wingman. It is designed to work with manned aircraft. The tasks of the MQ-28 Ghost Bat are to fire, monitor and interfere with enemy radars.

Ghost Bat made its first flight in 2021.Boeing is currently testing the second prototype of the drone. The third modification will enter the test phase by the end of 2022. Australia plans to take the MQ-28 Ghost Bat into service no later than 2025.
