Uber today announced the launch in Kiev of its "green" service UberGREEN.

Price and when to wait

The cost of UberGREEN is the same as in UberSELECT: 30 UAH for the base rate / 1.3 UAH per minute / 4.6 UAH per kilometer. The minimum fare price is 55 UAH. The service is already working in Kiev from 12:00. You can order electric vehicles through the Uber app. As usual, the trip is paid in cash or by card. The company aims to ensure that by the end of April at least 10,000 people took advantage of the new service.

Uber launches all-electric service in Kiev - Green

Kiev. March 21, 2019 - Uber launches a new service in Kiev - Green,consisting of 100% of electric vehicles with zero emissions. The service starts with more than 200 all-electric cars and aims to ensure that at the end of April Green is used by at least 10,000 people.

Kiev became the second city in Central andEastern Europe, where Green is launched, after Bucharest, and one of the few in Europe, where Uber offers the option of “green mobility”. Uber also offers electric transport services in Paris, London, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Porto, Zurich and Munich.

"We believe that the future is electric,autonomous transport, with the possibility of sharing, but we still have a long way to go. The purpose of this new service is to make electric cars accessible to more people in Kiev than ever before and to stimulate the development of electric vehicles. We cannot do it alone - we want to develop partnerships with the authorities, automakers and other energy market players so that we can make electric mobility accessible to everyone and everywhere, ”says Georgiy Sokolyansky, Head of Uber Development in Central and Eastern Europe.

In the Green service, cars such as Nissan Leaf, Renault Zoe, Hyundai Ioniq, Tesla S, BMW i3, Chevrolet Volt, Chevrolet Bolt will be available mainly.

The cost of the new service is the same as in UberSELECT: 30 UAH basic tariff / 1.3 UAH per minute / 4.6 UAH per kilometer. The minimum rate is 55 UAH.

How to order Green in Kiev:

  • Starting from March 21, 12:00, go to the Uber app, enter your destination and select Green.
  • Soon a fully electric car will arrive, which will take you to the address provided.
  • You can pay for the trip in cash or by card. For example, a trip from the airport to the city center will cost about 300 UAH.
  • At the beginning of the service, given the high demand, it is possible that Green may not always be available.
