Ubisoft will resurrect Splinter Cell, but fans will find something new on other platforms

In April 2019, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillaume said the Splinter Cell series was abandoned after Blacklist was released. Now now

a separate team settled in the studio, whichwill return the franchise to service when it decides how to refresh the game. Since then, the announcement has not appeared, but Guillaume has inspired hope by telling how the “resurrection” is progressing.

What is known

In an interview for the Chinese edition of GamerSky (viaIGN) Ubisoft boss blabbed that the team began experimenting with Splinter Cell. The point is not only in gameplay mechanics, but also in expanding the list of platforms on which a new project can come out.

“There will be new experiments, but on a larger numberdifferent devices. Now we are working a little on the brand to return one day. We cannot say when, because, as you know, it takes time. Every time we have to find the right experience to come back with something loud, ”said Guillaume.

According to rumors, in July Ubisoft made friends with Facebook, instructing Zuckerberg to make Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell for the Oculus VR helmet. At the same time, the French are working on a mobile collector's RPG Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad, where Sam Fisher has also “lit up”.

It is possible that this is precisely what Guillaume meant when speaking of experiments on "more different devices."
