UK buys £4.6m Carl Gustaf M4 anti-tank grenade launchers

The UK has ordered a new batch of Carl Gustaf M4 hand grenade launchers. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense

The value of the contract signed with the Swedish company SAAB was £4.6 million. In addition to hand grenade launchers, the deal includes the purchase of additional ammunition and the training of fighters.

The signing of the agreement followedThe UK donated some of its own anti-tank shells to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The contract with SAAB will allow the British defense establishment to resupply.

The UK has been operating Carl Gustaf since the late 1960s, when the army received M2 grenade launchers. The M4 version was announced in 2014. It has a weight of 6.8 kg and a length of less than 1 meter.

Carl Gustaf M4 supports the useprogrammable munitions. The grenade launcher has an adjustable shoulder rest and an adjustable support for the barrel handle. Unlike other variants, the M4 can be carried loaded.
