To fix this, CSWTD is developing a newhardware and software that will make rockets more compatible with each other. In other words, engineers will teach combat units to each other. Experts will also explore how to use smart weapons in real-life military scenarios.
The purpose of the new project is to explore howto technically provide inter-missile communication and joint behavior for solving the military tasks of Great Britain. It is part of a new weapons research program with a total budget of $ 8 billion.
The project began in April 2021 and will run for two years. The UK Department of Defense notes that the new technology will be integrated into a smart missile network in the next five years.
