Ukraine can get Patriot in the latest PAC-3 modification, it can shoot down ballistic and cruise missiles

We recently wrote that the United States is considering the possibility of transferring air defense systems to Ukraine.

What is known

According to Politico, the US is alreadynegotiations on how to transfer complexes in the shortest possible time. One option is that Ukraine could obtain the Patriot from US stockpiles. Interestingly, we are talking about the newest modification of the complex - PAC-3 (Patriot Advanced Capability-3). This version of the air defense system is designed to destroy ballistic and cruise missiles.

The United States is also considering the possibility of concluding a contract with Raytheon Technologies for the production of such air defense systems, but in this case, the supply of weapons will take years, and Ukraine needs modern air defense now.

Another problem is preparationUkrainian soldiers. According to Politico, up to 90 people will be needed to maintain one Patriot battery. It would take months to train that many soldiers.
