Ukraine received Lance-roquettes unitaire multiple launch rocket systems that can use ATACMS ballistic missiles with a launch range of 300 km

The Ukrainian Armed Forces could potentially use ATACMS if the United States decides to

provide operational-tactical level ballistic missiles.

What is known

A few weeks ago there was information aboutthat the US may have modified HIMARS before being sent to Ukraine so that the system could not use ATACMS missiles. How this was done is unknown. Also, the goal is not entirely clear if the United States still does not send ATACMS ballistic missiles to Ukraine, and no one else can do this except Washington.

However, even if the Ukrainian HIMARSdo not really support ATACMS, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have platforms capable of firing thick missiles. These are French Lance-roquettes unitaire or simply LRU.

France handed over two rocket systems to Ukrainesalvo fire, which are a variation of the American M270 MLRS. As it became known, the modification of the launcher and the software are compatible with ATACMS ballistic missiles, which have a launch range of about 300 km.

Now the Ukrainian military is using jetprojectiles of the GMLRS class, which can hit targets with high accuracy at a distance of about 80 km. In particular, the M31 with a warhead weighing 90 kg and a satellite navigation system.
