Ukraine will receive 11 PUMA-LE drones with a range of 60 km worth more than ₴540 million

The Armed Forces of Ukraine will soon receive a new batch of PUMA-LE (Long Endurance) unmanned aerial vehicles.

Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov said that Ukraine is buying 11 drones from AeroVironment through the Army of Drones project. The contract value amounted to ₴541.67 million ($14.76 million).

Together with unmanned aerial vehiclesUkraine will receive Long-Range Tracking Antenna (LTRA) antennas, which increase the range of PUMA-LE from 20 km to 60 km. AeroVironment drones are equipped with a 6x zoom thermal imager that allows you to detect the enemy in any weather and at any time of the day.

PUMA-LE can stay airborne for 5.5hours and climb to a height of 3000 meters. The structure of the drone includes a replaceable optoelectronic system Mantis i45 weighing 0.8 kg. The maximum payload weight is 2.5 kg. PUMA-LE are in service with 18 countries around the world, including the UK, Germany and the United States.
