Ukraine will receive the first batch of German Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns this summer

German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht told her Ukrainian counterpart Alexei Reznikov that

Ukraine will receive Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns this summer.

What is known

The first batch of ZSU Gepard will be delivered in July.It will include 15 installations. The second batch in the same quantity will come to us at the end of summer. In addition to self-propelled anti-aircraft guns, Germany will also send about 60,000 ammunition to Ukraine.

Gepard is a self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (ZSU)German production. It is designed to cover ground forces, destroy air targets at slant ranges from 100 m to 4 km and at altitudes up to 3 km, flying at speeds up to 350-400 m/s, as well as ground and surface targets from a range of up to 4500 meters. By the way, the ZSU Gepard is built on the chassis of the Leopard tank. The unit has been manufactured by Krauss-Maffei since the mid-1970s.
