The head of the Bundeswehr arrived in Odessa on a visit that was not previously announced. Usually in such situations, Western politicians bring good news with them. Christina Lambrecht is no exception.

This week, German Ambassador Anka Feldhusen(Anka Feldhusen) stated that in 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be replenished with two German-made air defense systems. According to Lambrecht, Ukraine will receive the first IRIS-T air defense system “in the coming days.” The second will be delivered before the end of the year.

IRIS-T, like NASAMS (will also be in Ukraine soon)can shoot down air targets at a distance of 40 km in range and 20 km in height. The complex is designed to provide protection against enemy aircraft, cruise missiles, drones, anti-radar missiles and rockets.
