QinetiQ-NA - "daughter" of the British defenseQinetiQ company. Since 2014, she has been conducting exercises on the operation and repair of TALON robots in Ukraine. During this time, the company has trained more than a hundred Ukrainian sappers.
Until February 24, there were more than a dozenremotely controlled TALON devices. In the near future, the defense forces will receive a new batch of ten robots. The corresponding press release appeared on the company's website.

The basic modification TALON has a length of 86.4 cm andheight 42.7 cm. The weight of the device can be up to 71 kg. Payload - up to 45 kg. In addition, the robot can drag a load weighing up to 680 kg. The power plant provides a maximum speed of 8.3 km / h. Without recharging, the robot works for about 3-4.5 hours, depending on the terrain and the task being performed, and in standby mode, autonomy reaches 7 days.
TALON is used by sappers to reduce the levelexplosive threats. To do this, it is equipped with a manipulator that is capable of lifting loads weighing up to 11 kg. The robot is able to identify and neutralize explosives, conduct reconnaissance of the area and find anti-personnel mines. A specialist can control the device at a distance of 300 m (via cable) to 800 m (via radio link).
