Unchanged on the smartphone market: Huawei is still far from Samsung, and Apple is not good

Analytical company Counterpoint published the results of the second quarter of 2019 in the smartphone market. In the top three

leaders unchanged, but someone managed to increase sales of gadgets, while someone continues to decline. But first things first.

The market leader in the number of smartphones soldremains the South Korean company Samsung. She sold 76.6 million units in the quarter, which is 7.1% more than in the same period last year. Now the manufacturer number 1 21.3% of the market.

Next comes Huawei. The Chinese company has not yet managed to overtake Samsung, and the leadership is still far away: Huawei has 56.7 million smartphones sold, that is, 20 million less than Samsung. But this is 4.6% more than last year. As a result, Huawei has 15.8% of the market.

Apple remains in third place, and everything is already sad here. The company sold 36.4 million iPhones, which is 11.9% less than in the second quarter of 2018.

The company's financial report states that smartphone sales fell 12% to $ 25.99 billion. And for the first time since 2012, iPhone sales are less than half of Apple’s total revenues.

Nevertheless, Apple is now taking 10.1% of the market, but at the risk of losing to the third place, Xiaomi, which now has 32.3 million sales of 9% of the smartphone market.

Success realme

But Realme has become a real champion, whose sales have grown by 848% over the year! During the first quarter, it sold 4.7 million smartphones and now occupies 1.3% of the market.
