Unexpectedly: HMD Global is working on a Nokia push-button phone with Android operating system

HMD Global is a market leader in push-button telephones. At IFA 2019, the manufacturer showed the Nokia 110, Nokia 2720 Flip

and Nokia 800 Tough with KaiOS on board, and now working on yet another “dialer”, but with Android.

XDA-Developers Journalists Get Videowith a demonstration of the prototype device. The novelty runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. The interface is similar to that of smartphones and it is optimized for a small screen. The firmware has a desktop, a menu with programs, a section with updating the OS, as well as pre-installed branded Google applications. For example, Google Assistant voice assistant, Google Maps, Google Chrome browser, and even YouTube.

Unfortunately, there are no characteristics and information when such a device enters the market. Perhaps the phone will remain a prototype.
