United Airlines invests $15 million to develop electric air taxis

United Airlines is ready to invest millions of dollars in developing electric air taxis.

What is known

United Airlines announced plans to invest$15 million in Brazilian startup Eve Air Mobility, which is owned by aircraft manufacturing giant Embraer. He is developing air taxis for use in urban environments.

Eve Air Mobility aircraft are equipped withfixed wings on which propellers are mounted. Also, a pair of screws is located in the tail section of the air taxi. The flying machine is designed for four passengers and can transport them to a distance of 100 km.

Deliveries of the first aircraftplanned for 2026. United Airlines has signed a contract to purchase 200 air taxis, with an option to increase to 400. Investment of funds passes through the venture division of United Airlines Ventures.
