In general, the amendments establish the amount of the fine forviolation of the procedure for collecting, processing or storing biometric data from 100 thousand to 300 thousand rubles for officials and from 300 thousand to 500 thousand rubles for legal entities, writes Kommersant. In addition, for deliberately entering “knowingly false information” into the Unified Biometric System (UBS) will be punishable by forced or compulsory labor or imprisonment for up to five years, and in case of grave consequences - up to ten years.

Biometric data includes fingerprints, iris imaging, DNA testing, height, weight, photos, videos, and other personally identifiable information.
